The outside reading for second quarter will be due the day after we get back from midterms, currently scheduled for Monday, January 27. In all likelihood, I will not be in school on that day and for the following few weeks, so please email me your assignments.
A number of you still have not updated your book choice on the spreadsheet I shared with you. Please do so immediately.
The assignment is the same as last quarter.
1. Plot Summary (one paragraph): What happened in this book?
2. Who or what is the protagonist, who or what is the antagonist, and what is the main conflict in the book?
3. What is the theme of the novel? What lesson do you learn from it? Remember, a theme is a sentence, not a word.
4. Write one quote from the book and explain why it is important to the novel.
5. Would you recommend this book to someone else? Why or why not?
For those of you reading nonfiction books, if your book doesn't lend itself to these questions, let me know and we'll work out an alternative assessment.
